San Jose Academy

San Jose Academy (SnJA) is an educational institution founded on January 23, 1970, under the leadership of Msgr. Jose A. Mirasol, with support from parishioners and the Maryknoll Sisters. It began offering Kindergarten classes in June 1970 in the "convento" building, using teachers from St. James Academy, and quickly expanded due to increasing enrollment. The school obtained government permits to operate preschool and grade school departments, and by March 1977, it celebrated its first graduation. It later received approval to offer secondary education, appointing Mrs. Virginia Roldan and Ms. Lucila dela Vega as the first lay high school and grade school principals. The academy has maintained an outreach program that provides education to public schools in Navotas and offers free vocational and evening high school classes to underprivileged youth. Leadership transitions over the years, including directors such as Msgr. Pacifico Ma. Mendoza, Fr. Lorenzo J. Egos, Msgr. Severino Casas, Msgr. Celso Ditan, Rev. Fr. Rolando dela Cruz, Msgr. Jose Norriel B. Bandojo, and Rev. Fr. Sanny de Claro, have brought periods of growth, infrastructure expansion, and challenges like financial constraints and declining enrollment. Recent directors have focused on faculty development, technological advancement, and spiritual enrichment. The school is currently led by Rev. Fr. Jeronimo Ma. J. Cruz as School Director and Mr. Rafael Patrick M. Pecjo as School Principal. It follows an academic calendar, with events such as summative assessments for the 2025-2026 school year, and maintains a community presence through news and activities.
