About Urdaneta City University
Urdaneta City University (UCU) is a higher education institution founded in 1966 by Dr. Pedro T. Orata, now celebrating over 59 years of operation. The university emphasizes quality education with a focus on global competence and character development, guided by four core values: Teamwork (cooperation and unity to achieve common goals), Integrity (honesty, authenticity, and commitment to truth), Competence (passion for excellence, expertise, and innovation), and Transcendence (selfless service and compassion for others and the community). UCU's 2025 theme, 'Innovating Standards,' highlights its ongoing efforts to elevate academic and service standards through policy refinement, instructional upgrades, and fostering a dynamic learning environment. The university offers extension services through the Center for Community Development and Extension Services (CCDES), providing sustainable community programs and training, and maintains a Center for Training and Professional Development (CTPD) for continuous learning for staff, students, and stakeholders. UCU hosts events such as graduation ceremonies, cultural celebrations, and research conferences, reinforcing its commitment to education and community engagement.
