About The Raya School
The Raya School is a progressive educational institution with multiple branches in the Philippines, dedicated to helping children discover themselves, their roots, and the world around them. The name 'raya' derives from the Malay word 'rajah,' meaning nobility. The school implements a curriculum focused on fostering a love for reading, an inclination toward science, and a strong sense of national identity. It provides a discovery-based, child-centered, and play-oriented learning environment designed to be fun and intellectually engaging. The school serves as the laboratory school of Adarna House, the country's first and largest publisher of educational children's books. It offers programs from preschool through senior high school, with a bilingual medium of instruction. The curriculum integrates themes relevant to Filipino culture and identity, utilizes Singapore Math for numeracy skills, and employs the Project Approach developed by Dr. Sylvia Chard for investigatory projects. The senior high school follows a STEAM-C track (Science, Technology, Entrepreneurship, Arts, Mathematics, and Community Engagement) aimed at producing innovators, entrepreneurs, reformers, and engaged citizens. Branches include Raya Playschool in Mandaluyong City and Raya Malaya in Quezon City, both extending the same progressive educational philosophy.
