About Integrated School For Young Children
ISYC (Integrated School For Young Children) is an early childhood education institution founded in 1999 by teachers Michelle Marie Castillo Aprecio and Leah Emma C. Buenviaje-Miguel. The school officially began operations in June 2001 with 18 students and three teachers. In July 2003, ISYC received its Certificate of Government Recognition (P-022, series of 2003). The school relocated to its current location at Lot 5 Block 4, Gil Fernando Avenue, Sto. Niño, Marikina City in 2010. ISYC's educational philosophy centers on learning through play, experience, and social interaction, with a vision to provide innovative early childhood programs that foster lifelong positive impacts on children's knowledge-seeking abilities and holistic development. The mission focuses on creating a learning environment that cultivates a love for learning, establishes a strong academic foundation, and develops behavioral and cognitive habits that promote positive self-concept. The curriculum integrates physical, cognitive, creative, social, and emotional development through activities like reading, cross-cultural media exposure, math and science concepts introduced playfully, and community field trips. ISYC emphasizes cooperative learning through partnerships between families and school staff, who serve as facilitators and resources. The school maintains low teacher-to-student ratios across its programs: Toddlers (1.10 to 2.9 years by June) at 1:5, Juniors (2.10 to 3.9 years) at 1:5, Seniors (3.10 to 4.9 years) at 1:5, and Kindergarteners (4.10 to 5.11 years) at 1:6. The staff consists of experienced early childhood education professionals dedicated to providing quality care and education.
