Gamot Cogon Waldorf School

Gamot Cogon Waldorf School (GCWS) is a non-stock, non-profit, non-sectarian educational institution offering comprehensive education from Kindergarten through Grade 12. Located on five hectares of farm- and forest-land in Zarraga, Iloilo, approximately 20 kilometers from Iloilo City, the school has been operating for 20 years since its establishment in 2005. It is officially recognized as a private school by the Philippine Department of Education. As part of the global Steiner Waldorf School movement, GCWS implements an educational approach that has been practiced for over a century across more than 1,200 schools in 60+ countries, focusing on developing the whole human being—head, heart, and hands. The school's mission is to provide balanced, innovative, and health-giving education from preschool to Class 12, grounded in the spiritual principles of Steiner Waldorf education. The curriculum is structured into three main stages: Kindergarten, which emphasizes imitation, rhythm, and play for healthy early childhood development; Grade School, which engages children's imagination to explore the world consciously; and High School, which supports adolescents through their transformative years by affirming their emerging ideals and providing meaningful experiences. GCWS actively builds community connections through partnerships, volunteer opportunities, visitor programs, and outreach initiatives. Enrollment for the 2024-25 school year is currently ongoing.
