About Davao Medical School Foundation Inc
Davao Medical School Foundation, Inc. (DMSFI) is a leading medical education institution in the Philippines, established in the early 1970s by a consortium of Davao doctors, educators, and religious organizations. Founded as the first medical school in Mindanao, it aims to serve the region through health science education. Over 40 years later, DMSFI has grown into a comprehensive academic institution offering multiple programs including College of Medicine, College of Dentistry, College of Nursing, College of Biology, College of Midwifery, and Postgraduate Studies. The foundation operates a 100-bed tertiary care hospital on its 10,000 square meter compound, featuring private rooms, wards, and suite rooms with panoramic city views. DMSFI also runs the Institute of Primary Health Care (IPHC), a community service organization established in 1978 that addresses broader health determinants like livelihood and economic prosperity through projects across multiple regions. The institution emphasizes values of faith, integrity, respect, excellence, and community health.
